A message from Secretary of State, Joseph B Meyer

In 1998, 354,000 people were eligible to register to vote, but only 239,539, or 68 percent, actually did so. Of those registered, 74 percent participated in the general election. If you are not registered to vote, please consider fulfilling your duty as a citizen, and, your privilege as an American, by participating fully in the electoral process.
